When we were getting ready to move to Saigon, I told Mark we would likely need to invest in e-readers. We love to read and I wasn’t sure that we’d be able to find many English-language books.
Once again, I’m happy to say that Saigon surprised me.
There are many bookstores in the city and even a block known as “Book Street” , a tree-lined, pedestrian-only boulevard, with several book stalls and plenty of benches and chairs to linger on to read a newly-purchased book. There are also pop-up book “festivals” on various city streets throughout the year.
While there aren’t an infinite number of English-language books, there are certainly enough to satisfy our inner bookworms. And, I don’t know about you, but anywhere I’m surrounded by books is one of my happy places – And Saigon delivers those endorphins in spades!
